Hi my name is Hope Nicholson. I'm one of the newest members to the IDDBA team. I was born in Chicago and raised in Crystal Lake, IL, but my heart belongs to Wisconsin, and it's the only place I've ever really felt at home. I live in Mt. Vernon with my husband Jay, our kiddo, Benji, our dogs, Rory & Dean, and River, our cat. I love all things dairy, deli and bakery. I come from a large family of Colombian ancestry, and food always brings us together and connects us to our past and present. From buñuelos and arepas with queso fresco, to freshly made Colombian chorizo, and mouth-watering sancocho; food has been the one thing that I can identify with as a first generation Colombian American. I may not speak Spanish fluently, but I will always share the love of the food that hails from the Antioquia region that nourished my parents and ancestors. I appreciate all the work, love, and passion that goes into the food that we are blessed to eat. I believe in IDDBA's mission to support our members and the industry, and I feel it is more important now, than ever, to come together. Food is a universal need that will always bring us together, and I look forward to seeing what the future of the industry holds for us all.
